Welcome to Woodland Hills

At Woodland Hills Church of Christ, we are a family of believers committed to loving God, loving one another, and sharing the hope of Jesus with the world. We believe church isn’t just a place to attend—it’s a people to belong to.

Whether you’re new to the area, new to faith, or looking for a church home, we want you to know: there’s a place for you here.

Who We Are

We are a Christ-centered, Bible-based, and people-focused congregation rooted in the teachings of the New Testament church. Our desire is to live like Jesus, serve like Jesus, and reach the world with the love and truth of the gospel.

You’ll find people of all ages and backgrounds — families, singles, students, professionals, retirees — coming together to worship, grow, and serve in unity.

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42

Where God is Leading Us

Mission

At Woodland Hills, our mission is simple but powerful: to glorify God in all we do as a church family. We pursue this by:

  • Worshiping in Spirit and Truth
Gathering to honor God with sincere, Scripture-based worship.

  • Equipping Believers
Helping every member grow in faith and prepare for service through sound teaching and spiritual training.

  • Fostering Christ-Centered Fellowship
Building a loving, supportive church family that lives out the “one another” commands of Scripture.

  • Reaching the Lost
Sharing the gospel locally and globally so others can know the hope found in Jesus.

Vision

We envision a church that lives out Acts 2:42 — a community devoted to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.

At Woodland Hills, we strive to be:

  • Anchored in Christ through devotion to the apostles’ teaching — building our lives on the truth of God’s Word.

  • Strengthened in Fellowship by living in authentic community, encouraging and supporting one another daily.

  • Unified in Worship through the breaking of bread, remembering Christ together with reverence and joy.

  • Faithful in Prayer as we seek God’s guidance, intercede for others, and grow in intimacy with Him.

Core Values

At Woodland Hills, our shared values shape everything we do as we seek to follow Jesus together:

  • Christ-Centered Living – We strive to make Jesus the focus of our lives, decisions, and relationships.

  • Biblical Truth – We teach and live by the authority of God’s Word.

  • Authentic Fellowship – We build real relationships rooted in love, grace, and mutual encouragement.

  • Intentional Evangelism – We share the gospel boldly and compassionately, both locally and globally.

  • Compassionate Service – We seek to serve others with humility, generosity, and care.

  • Prayerful Dependence – We trust in God through consistent, faith-filled prayer.

What We Believe

At Woodland Hills, our faith is rooted in the Word of God and centered on Jesus Christ. We are committed to living out New Testament Christianity in our teaching, worship, and daily lives. Here are a few core beliefs that guide us:

  • God: We believe in one true God — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who is the Creator and Sustainer of all things.
  • Jesus Christ: Jesus is the Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He lived a perfect life, died for our sins, rose from the dead, and reigns as Lord. He is the only way to salvation (John 14:6).
  • The Holy Spirit: The Spirit indwells and empowers every believer, guiding us into truth and producing Christlike character in our lives.
  • The Bible: The Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God and our final authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
  • Salvation: Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith, repentance, confession, and baptism for the forgiveness of sins (Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4).
  • The Church: The church is the body of Christ, composed of all baptized believers who are called to love one another, grow in faith, and share the gospel with the world (Ephesians 4:11–16).
  • Worship: We strive to worship in Spirit and truth, following the New Testament pattern with heartfelt singing, prayer, communion, giving, and preaching (John 4:24; Acts 2:42).
  • Christian Living: Our lives should reflect the teachings of Jesus in word and action, as we seek to be salt and light in the world (Matthew 5:13–16).

Our Leadership

We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 1:22–23), and we seek to follow His lead in all things.

At Woodland Hills, our leadership reflects the pattern found in the New Testament:

  • Elders: Spiritual shepherds who oversee the congregation, provide pastoral care, and lead by example (1 Peter 5:1–4).

  • Deacons: Servants who help meet the practical needs of the church and support the mission in specific areas (1 Timothy 3:8–13).

  • Ministers: Teachers and preachers who equip the church through the Word and support the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:11–12).

  • Every Member: We believe every Christian has a role to play in building up the body and making disciples (1 Corinthians 12:12–27).

Our leaders are not perfect — but they are committed to humbly serving Christ and His church with love, integrity, and faithfulness.
