2026 Theme: Apostles’ Teaching

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” – Acts 2:42

Why Apostles’ Teaching?

In Acts 2:42, the early church devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, prioritizing sound doctrine, Scripture-centered community, and life-transforming obedience.

At Woodland Hills, we believe that learning and applying Scripture is the foundation for growth in Christ and healthy Christian community. Through intentional teaching, we equip God’s people to know Christ more deeply, live His truth more faithfully, and share the gospel more courageously.

Our Focus This Year

In 2026, we are committed to:

  • A deep commitment to biblical teaching as our foundation
  • Strengthening faith through consistent Scripture engagement
  • Encouraging discipleship across all ages
  • Building a culture of biblical learning and obedience
  • Equipping members to teach and live out the gospel in daily life

Key Initiatives in 2026

Longer Scripture Readings in Worship: We’ve expanded the reading of God’s Word during worship services so that everyone hears and reflects on more of Scripture’s teaching each week.

Tuesday Mid-Day Bible Class: A new weekly class (Tuesdays at 10 AM) focusing on deeper study of books of the Bible, theological themes, and practical discipleship from an apostolic perspective.

Sunday Bible Classes for All Ages: Our Bible classes continue to be rich in teaching, drawing from apostolic doctrine for children, youth, and adults alike.

Weekly Preaching & Teaching: Sermons grounded in the Word, with an emphasis on doctrine, application, and obedience to Christ.

How You Can Join In

Apostles’ Teaching isn’t just a theme – it’s a life-long commitment. You can participate by:

  • Attending Sunday worship and engaging with the longer Scripture readings

  • Joining the Tuesday Bible class for mid-day study and growth

  • Being part of Bible classes for your age group every Sunday morning and Wednesday night

  • Inviting others to learn and grow with you

  • Praying for a hunger for Scripture and spiritual maturity

  • Serving in ministries that equip others toward Christ-like growth

Looking Ahead

This year’s theme is a step in our ongoing journey to become a congregation fully devoted to the Word of God in every aspect of life and ministry. Just as the early church grew by clinging to apostolic teaching, so we pray that God will use His Word to shape us, unify us, and send us out to make disciples who follow Jesus with conviction and joy.

Let’s grow in truth. Let’s grow in obedience. Let’s grow in the Apostles’ Teaching.
