The C.A.R.E. Ministry is a hands-on extension of our L.I.F.E. (Living in Fellowship & Encouragement) group, designed to help meet real needs within our Woodland Hills church family. Whether someone is facing illness, grief, loneliness, or everyday challenges, this ministry ensures that no member – especially our seniors, widows/widowers, or those going through hardship – feels overlooked or unsupported.
Together, we bear one another’s burdens and reflect the love of Christ in action.
Needs are submitted by phone, email, or in-person.
The L.I.F.E. leadership team reviews each request and identifies the support needed.
A C.A.R.E. volunteer is contacted based on fit and availability.
The volunteer confirms the assignment and provides assistance, or helps coordinate additional support if needed.
There’s no long-term commitment required to volunteer. You’ll only be contacted when a need arises that matches your interests, and you’re always free to say yes or no.
Everyone can contribute in different ways. Here are some of the common needs:
Light yard work (weeding, raking leaves)
Basic home maintenance (changing light bulbs, minor repairs)
Lifting or moving household items
Rides to church, appointments, or errands
Picking up groceries or prescriptions
Delivering meals or care packages
Technology help (Realm, livestream setup, smartphones, etc.)
Visiting shut-ins or nursing home residents
Sharing a meal or offering hospitality
Mentoring or fellowship with younger members
Providing rides to social or fellowship events
Writing cards or notes of encouragement
Calling to check in on sick or grieving members
Praying with or for someone in need
Supporting those walking through loss or life transitions
