Minister

Matt started working at Woodland Hills in May of 2013, but he is no stranger to the congregation. In November of 2012, Matt married fellow Woodland Hills youth group alum, Addie Spellings, and they have two daughters. Matt has worked with churches in Tennessee, Georgia, and Arkansas as both a youth ministry intern and full-time youth minister. At Woodland Hills, he has worked as a young adult intern, young adult minister, and family minister. He began working as the pulpit minister in July of 2022. He considers Woodland Hills his home. Matt has a B.A. Bible from Freed-Hardeman University and is currently enrolled in the M.Div. program at Harding School of Theology. He loves golf, fishing, and all things Memphis.

Dennis Sangster
Worship Minister

Dennis started leading the singing portion of worship services at Woodland Hills in April 2004, after leading at four churches in the Memphis and Millington areas for almost thirty years. He has conducted song leading classes in many states over the years and has led the singing at many lectureships and workshops. Dennis and his twin brother Chris learned about churches of Christ through a Jimmy Allen campaign in Seattle, Washington, when they were seniors in high school. They had been raised by a Baptist father and Catholic mother and had attended Methodist and Presbyterian churches growing up. Dennis attended Columbia Christian in Portland, Oregon, and Oklahoma Christian in Oklahoma City, where he received his B.A. in Religion/Business. He and his wife Annette have four children: Casey, Amanda, Daniel, and Nicholas. Dennis and Annette love to travel.

Jacob Smith
Youth Minister

Jacob started working as the Woodland Hills youth and family minister in May 2023. He has a strong passion for God's Word and for ministry. That passion led him to Freed-Hardeman University, where he graduated in May 2022 with a BS in Bible. It was there that he met and fell in love with Matti Poling, whom he married just a week after graduation. Jacob has done multiple youth ministry internships in Nashville, Tennessee and Conyers, Georgia. He is always seeking ways to improve his God-given talents to strengthen and grow the Lord's kingdom. He is an avid board game fanatic, but also enjoys video games and movies.
