A 242 Church

Devoted to Doctrine, Fellowship, Breaking Bread, and Prayer

What is a 242 Church?

At Woodland Hills, we’re striving to become a “242 Church,” inspired by Acts 2:42:

“And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

This verse gives us a clear and compelling picture of what it means to be the Lord’s church: rooted in truth, unified in community, anchored in worship, and active in prayer. Our goal is to live out this model—not just on Sundays, but every day, in every aspect of our lives.

Our 242 Pillars

Devoted to the Apostles’ Teaching

We are committed to sound doctrine and consistent, Bible-based teaching. Whether in the pulpit, classrooms, or small groups, God’s Word remains our foundation.

Fellowship

We strive for authentic relationships within the body. Through shared meals, fellowship groups, and everyday support, we grow stronger together in love and unity.

Breaking of Bread

We regularly remember Christ through communion and share meals that strengthen our bond as a spiritual family.

Prayer

We are a praying people. We lean on God for direction, healing, and strength – individually and as a church. Our worship, gatherings, and ministries are grounded in prayer.

Why Does This Matter?

Being a 242 Church isn’t a slogan – it’s a direction. It reminds us to return to the simplicity and power of the early church. As we seek to grow in faith and impact our community, we believe the model in Acts 2:42 is still the best blueprint for transformation.
